I remember being at Marie Callender's with my mom and a group of women after Bible Study many years ago.
The gossip started before our cherry pie arrived.
Mama glanced at her watch and said,
“I didn’t realize it was so late. I’d better get back to the office. Come on Bo-Bo. Gotta go.”
And so we left.
Once we were safe in the car, she handed me her Bible and asked me to read this scripture as she drove.
Then she laughed and said,
“You know, now that we’ve left the table they’ll be gossiping about us.”
Nuff said.
