Dear Thoene friends and family,
While this world is in turmoil we must remind ourselves and take consolation that He is still in control! The evil of this world can be so loud and overbearing that we may, momentarily, feel burdened and lost, but friends, please keep your eyes to the mountains! Know that our ultimate reward is Heaven. The trials and tribulations of this world are mere stepping stones to our eternity in the presence of our Father!
Adonai still reigns. He explains to us, saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)
And, most thankfully, our Father is still in control. Daniel tells us, "He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." (Daniel 2:21)
We must lift each other up today and say, as the Lord Himself has taught us, "It is Well with my Soul."
Let us pray!
Dearest Lord,
We acknowledge Your sovereignty! We know you are still in control. We pray for Your will here on Earth, while also praying that all around will hear Your call; repent and turn to You and Your ways! We love You, Father, and we love our fellow man, as You have commanded us. We pray to be the light so that our neighbors may also know Your love! Please, Lord, give us the strength to continue Your work and to continue fighting this battle for all that is just and honorable here on Earth.
In Your holy name, we pray.
Amen.
Psalm 121
A Song of Assent
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
