Everything Means Something- St. Patrick's Day Edition

EVERYTHING MEANS SOMETHING!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Thanks for all your cheerful Irish blessings today.

Here is something I share every year: St. Patrick was one of the most powerful, Christ anointed spiritual warriors to have ever lived. In the mid-400s, he was taken prisoner by Irish Pagans. After years, he escaped, yet God called him back to Ireland to convert the Celtic hoards. He fought against the demons and evil of the pagan Druids and won the entire land of Ireland for Jesus.

A fantastic video I've shown my Lit classes every year is called "CELTIC PILGRIMAGE". I highly recommend this to all ages!!! You can watch it free with Amazon Prime, or purchase from your favorite streaming service. "Celtic Pilgrimage" is the incredible story of Patrick and the spread of the gospel through the Irish.

Here is a photo of Brock and I in Ireland. One of our all time favorite research adventures was attending the Irish School of Falconry. Everything we learned was poured into the characters of Cantor and Lily in the second book in the AD CHRONICLES series, "SECOND TOUCH". (One of my favorite books!)

Falconry is an ancient art. Many different types of birds; hawks, eagles, falcons, owls; are used in falconry. Scripture is filled with the imagery of falconry.

What I learned: There is an unshakable bond of trust between Master and bird through nurturing and training. The master casts the bird from his arm into the wind. He issues commands through whistles. The bird obeys and flies high and circles, searching for prey. It then returns to its master with its catch.

I believe that we who love God are the eagles of the Lord. We are the falcons who perch on His arm and await His command to fly and to perform His will.

Isaiah 40:31 paints the picture of the Master Falconer and his Eagle!

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles!”

Today I encourage you,

Be God’s eagle! DO NOT BE AFRAID!

Train your anxious heart to wait on the Lord and trust Him for His signal.

Listen for His call! The moment is coming, soon, when He will signal and we will rise and meet Him in the air!

I also wish to share the prayer that Saint Patrick prayed everyday!

It is called, "St.Patrick's Breastplate"! Put on this armor of God and march forward to victory against all evil!

PRAY WITH ME!

THE ARMOR OF PATRICK AND CHRIST

"I bind to myself today The strong virtue of the Invocation of the Trinity: I believe the Trinity in the Unity The Creator of the Universe.

I bind to myself today The virtue of the Incarnation of Christ with His Baptism, The virtue of His crucifixion with His burial, The virtue of His Resurrection with His Ascension, The virtue of His coming on the Judgement Day.

I bind to myself today The virtue of the love of seraphim, In the obedience of angels, In the hope of resurrection unto reward, In prayers of Patriarchs, In predictions of Prophets, In preaching of Apostles, In faith of Confessors, In purity of holy Virgins, In deeds of righteous men.

I bind to myself today The power of Heaven, The light of the sun, The brightness of the moon, The splendour of fire, The flashing of lightning, The swiftness of wind, The depth of sea, The stability of earth, The compactness of rocks.

I bind to myself today God’s Power to guide me, God’s Might to uphold me, God’s Wisdom to teach me, God’s Eye to watch over me, God’s Ear to hear me, God’s Word to give me speech, God’s Hand to guide me, God’s Way to lie before me, God’s Shield to shelter me, God’s Host to secure me, Against the snares of demons, Against the seductions of vices, Against the lusts of nature, Against everyone who meditates injury to me, Whether far or near, Whether few or with many.

I invoke today all these virtues Against every hostile merciless power Which may assail my body and my soul, Against the incantations of false prophets, Against the black laws of heathenism, Against the false laws of heresy, Against the deceits of idolatry, Against the spells of women, and smiths, and druids, Against every knowledge that binds the soul of man.

Christ, protect me today Against every poison, against burning, Against drowning, against death-wound, That I may receive abundant reward.

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ at my right, Christ at my left, Christ in the fort, Christ in the chariot seat, Christ in the poop [deck], Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks to me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

I bind to myself today The strong virtue of an invocation of the Trinity, I believe the Trinity in the Unity The Creator of the Universe."
